51 වන ජාතික ජ්‍යේෂ්ඨ හොකී ශුරතාවය පසුගිය දා කොළඹ පොලිස් ක්‍රීඩාංගනය කේන්ද්‍ර කරගනිමින් පැවැත්විනි. නොවැම්බර් මස 6 වන දින ඇරඹි තරඟාවලිය දින හතරක් පුරා අති සාර්ථකව ක්‍රියාත්මක විය.

තරඟාවලියේ ශූරතාවය දිනා ගැනීමට පසුගිය වසර ගණනාව තිස්සේ ශූරතාවයට හිමිකම් කියන ආරක්ෂක සේවා පිල සමත් වූයේ ගියවර ද අනු ශීරයන් වූ මාතලේ හොකී සංගමය ගෝල 9-0 ලෙස පරාජය කරමිනි. මෙහිදී ජයග්‍රාහී ආරක්ෂක සේවා පිල තරඟයේ ප්‍රථම භාගය අවසන් වන විට ගොල 5-0 ලෙස ඉදිරියෙන් සිටීමට සමත් විය. තරඟාවලිය පුරා දක්ෂ ලෙස ක්‍රීඩා කල ආරක්ෂක සේවා පිලේ ක්‍රීඩක එම්.මුලාෆර් ගෝල 3 ක් රැස් කලේය. අවසන් පූර්ව වටයේදී ආරක්ෂක සේවා පිල විසින් කොළඹ හොකී සංගමය 6-0 ලෙස ද , මාතලේ සංගමය විසින් රාජ්‍ය සේවා පිල 2-0 ලෙස ද පරාජයට පත් කරන ලදී.

මේවර 51 වන වරට පැවති ජාතික ජ්‍යේෂ්ඨ හොකී ශුරතාවයේ සමාරම්භක තරඟයේදී ප්‍රබල ආරක්ෂක සේවා පිල හමුවේ ශ්‍රී ලංකා පාසල් පිල ගෝල 6-1 ලෙස පරාජය විය.

තරඟාවුලියේ සෙසු තරඟ ප්‍රතිපල වල බිඳක් පහත දැක්වේ.

CR and my Old Car

Was really excited for CR & FC at the beginning of the season. It stayed until before the 5th week against Havelock SC. But yet again for the umpteenth time CR just proved to me that it is really hard to be a fan of them. Let me explain my title first. I used to have 1997 make Toyota Caldina. Very spacious and comfortable, family friendly vehicle. Yes, the damn diesel automobile took me every where.  Here comes the BUT. But every month or so I would be doing some repair. I would fix the issue and would be happy. Always the joy was short lived. The very next month I would be at the garage trying to fix some thing else. Having being a CR fan almost for 20 years now, they remind me of my poor old car. If they have good forwards, then they would be lacking backs. Or rather a fly half, who could distribute the ball and set his back line in motion. Of the all  years Fazil "the legend" Marija haunted  CR and tore apart defenses,  I believe young Tarinda Ratwat...

Double blues halted

On a perfect Saturday evening Royal managed to break hearts of double blues at their home. A game that promised to be a thriller stayed as it is providing spectators worth of their money. Coming in to this penultimate week Trinity, Isipathana, Royal and Wesley were in the title race. I honestly thought Wesley were true contenders to the title this season amid their early season drubbing in the hands of Trinity and the drama that followed. My opinion was both Royal and Wesley were neck to neck while Royal had a slight advantage. There were two major reasons for that. First one is Royal were playing at home and second is they are a 80 minute team. If you followed Royal through out the season , they managed to hang on playing full 80 minutes. As rugby pundits suspected it seemed like Wesley did not have the enough gas to last entire 80 minutes. Wesley started with a bang. මෙවර අන්තර් සමාජ රගර් තරඟාවලියට වසර ගණනක නිහැඬියාව බිඳිමින් ඉදිරිපතා වන නාවික හමුදා පිල තවත් ශක්තිමත් වී ඇත. මුලින්ම සී ආර් පිල හා එකතු වූ එරන්ද වීරක්කොඩි නාවික හමුදා පිලට එකතු වී ඇත. ඊට අමතරව රවි ජයසූරිය (CR) , සුමේධ මාලේවන (CH), සමන්ත ලක්ෂාන් (හැව්ලොක්) යන ක්‍රීඩකයන් ඇතුලු අන්තර් සමාජ පිටිය වර්ණවත් කල ක්‍රීඩකයන් රැසක් නාවික හමුදා පිල නියෝජනය කරනු ඇත.
